Virtual space provided opportunities to attract both adults and children alike.

Without an Internet, as without hands?

There are more and more new ways to express our personalities, such as the creation of blogs, social media facilities, etc. This is especially topical for children and young adults. Children are open to innovations, quickly become proficient to new technologies. Sometimes their knowledge and skills can surpass even adults. The disease which affects the whole Europe

The growing popularity of the Internet, at all times relevant to the problems of the former and moved to the virtual space, thus further strengthened. One of the most painful problems in society, and especially among sensitive young generation is the online space raging bullying. European study of 14-17 years old children showed that the results are alarming - one in five children (21.9 %) were experienced virtual terror - online bullying. Electronic effects of bullying is often more difficult than in real life, because virtual bullying quickly spread, their spread is difficult to control and prevention of this problem is becoming more pressing both in Lithuania and other European countries.
Lithuania started talking about the issue of bullying in 1994, because of our country accession to the World Health Organization coordinated international students living and health research. The most recent four years of the study report submitted data of 2006 year from nearly 40 countries. While surveys show that from 1994 Lithuania bullying scale significantly decreased (from 41.7 % to 28 % of the boys and 39.5 % to 26.5 % girls). Last year, the International published research (2009-2010 years) showed that about a quarter of the children have been bullied in the past two months. In another study, conducted in 25 European countries, the results show that Lithuania experienced online bullying of students the percentage is lower than the overall average (5 %), but in real life, the prevalence rate is among the highest compared with the results of other countries - 19%. Also all Baltic countries are at a similar level. Distinguished only Estonia, its most prominent figures. In the neighboring country the bullying in cyberspace is 14%, and the reality is higher than 43% (Livingstone, S. et al, EU Kids Online, 2011).

Bullying with psychologists eyes

Ignorance and fear of such problems only confirms that in society there are no space for understanding, tolerance and respect of others. Web portals, social media turns the perfect place of defamation, bullying and mud. And the reason behind it is the family. MEP Leonidas Donskis pointed out that roots of bullying is  n family where there is a lack of attention. “As a child treated in childhood, so the child is doing in school. If he is being treated humanely, then it will return the debt to society by their behavior, “- reasoned L.Donskis. It only confirms that the basis of all things is the family. According to psychologists, the young people writing comments, which is full of frustration, intolerance and hatred just shows deep psychological problems. One of the reasons for such irrational behavior is an inferiority complex. Expressing their approaches, offset by such persons as their grievances, and feel superior to prevail over the man whom their humiliates.
There is another side of the offensive strategy used to defend themselves. Thus force their right of disposal, a young person just try to show the audacity surrounding his personal encounter. That is why the casting aggression gives a relief and satisfaction. Virtual terror can’t be regarded as not enough serious problem. More than half of the surveyed students indicated that experience related with bullying and cyberbullying gives very negative impact on their mental health. Psychologists say that bullying is strongly influenced by the formation of personality. Youngsters are very important part of their place in society, in other words, social status, and bullying harms the adolescent socialization processes.

Allusion to changes

It is important to understand that things such as bullying or violence itself does not disappear anywhere. In order to manage the challenges that need to put a lot of effort to make the right decision, because what is going on in a public web space, sooner or later, touches us all. The good news is that more often drawn public attention to such issues. This leads to new solutions and new ideas for how to manage and improve the situation of virtual space and to make that bullying does not become a mass phenomenon. Although our country is still among the leaders in Europe, but we can see a positive trends. International study Lithuania was among the countries where bullying is declining. “I think that’s a good sign, but still need a lot of years to significantly reduce bullying,” - said one of the psychologists involved in the study. I think that the prevention of the social websites is very important, because the young generation is growing in the world of smart technology. There are numerous of places to reach not only good things that promote the comprehensive growth of society. It is gratifying that such problems is posed by the publicity. Publicity - a key tool to combat the social problems of modern society and this can not be forgotten.
